Why you don’t need any Antivirus for Windows 10 PC

In this blog, I have always recommended using any antivirus for Windows PC and I also suggested you install genuine Antivirus software on your PC either paid or free but not cracked or pirated. In case you have faced confusion to select antivirus software from various brands then I have also enlisted the Top 10 Antivirus for Windows 10. But then why I am telling you that there is no requirement to install any antivirus programme on your Windows 10 PC.

Recently I have checked that my current antivirus Kaspersky Internet Security is going to expire so I was planing for renewal or purchasing new brand antivirus. In this process, I usually short out the best antivirus in the current market for Windows 10 PC. For this, I take help from AV-TEST, the independent antivirus testing organization where the benchmark those well know antivirus and give some points according to their parameter. They benchmark both paid as well as free antivirus. And in the list, the best antivirus is Kaspersky Internet Security, but wait there is another antivirus which also gets the same point or marks.

Surprisingly this antivirus is none other than by default Windows Defender. I know this feels awkward. But this is the reality,  According to the June 2019 report, there are four antiviruses that get full marks in each parameter. These are F-Secure Safe v17, Kaspersky Internet Security, Norton Security and Windows Defender which comes with Windows 10.

Then why pay and purchase any antivirus when Window Defender sores the same. Normally a Windows PC can’t have two active antiviruses. Mean when you install any third-party antivirus on your Windows 10 PC the Windows Defender get disabled. But now it’s time to enable it and if you are using any free antivirus then uninstall it.

There were 23 days left to expire my current antivirus. Bus as soon as I realised this I uninstalled the current one and enabled the Windows Defender. Now I don’t need to fret about the license of Antivirus.

So have a look at how much marks does Windows Defender gets in the benchmark by AV-TES.

Protection:  6.0/6.0

Protection against malware infections
(such as viruses, worms or Trojan horses)

Performance: 6.0/6.0

Average influence of the product on computer speed in daily usage

Usability: 6.0/6.0

Impact of the security software on the usability of the whole computer
(lower values indicate better results)

You can see in each parameter Windows Defender outnumbered that other antivirus whether free or paid. There is no doubt that Microsoft has taken some serious steps to enhance Windows Defender through a path that was started from Microsoft Microsoft Security Essentials.

If you are new to Windows Defender then just go the Cortana search or Jarvis search to type Windows Defender Security Center to launch the app. First, you need to enable it and it will hardly a second to configure it. Now restart your PC. There is an option setting for better protection from Ransomewire by linking your PC to OneDrive and keeping your sensitive files in OneDrive. Once you have done all these configurations it will look like this.

For first use just click on Virus & threat protection and do a scan run.

Unlike messy option in a normal antivirus software Windows Defender Security Center has clean and simple UI. And this is nothing less in terms of its performance as the above scores reflect.

Lastly, if you are a normal user and you always love to update your Windows having a genuine Windows then this is the best antivirus programme that you can trust and keep it enabled on your Windows 10 PC.
