The Hype and Attraction of Social Media in 2018

In this article, we will take you through the hype of social media, how it has attracted the youth in 2018 along with its pro’s and cons.The initiation of Social media happened at the end of the 20th century, but it became a household name in 2009 when Facebook and Whatsapp came into limelight along with Yahoo.

They grew at a steady rate and started to commercialize the product with ads on the news feed along with their growing user base. In about five years, it became a worth market billion, and suddenly three-four more players wanted to enter the market such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Linkedin.

Facebook and Whatsapp played a major role in the growing popularity of Social media which was later capitalized by companies such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Linkedin.

The limelight was such that the majority of today’s youth had a huge % of its daily life towards Social Media.

There are certain features such as Chat/call option, status/story updates, customized Good Morning Images, and so much more that attract today’s youth.

Much more than the news feed updates, its WhatsApp’s features such as  Whatsapp DP changes, live stories, chat option, online/offline messages, and others that attract the majority of the youth in 2018.

We will also be discussing three pro’s and con’s of Social Media an as follows –

Pros –
1)    It helps in remaining updated with all the latest news stories and happenings around the globe.
2)    Allows users to remain connected with their family, friends, and another relative from anywhere and at any time in the world.
3)     It is also a way to educate a user about ethics through vital awareness programs.

Con’s –
1)    As per a report on a reputed daily, It takes 70% of the time of a day in a youth’s life leaving them behind with no productive work maintained or done!
2)    It limits a person from outdoor activities that keep them healthy and in a good state of mind.
3)    The users tend to have lack emotional connection with their loved ones when they get stuck with strangers in the online world. It also affects in the daily face to face communication skills for the same.

We have now read the reasons behind such attraction and hype and If you’re a Youth reading this then we would recommend you to hear childhood stories of your parents and try to replicate at least 10% of it along with the use of Social Media.

It will surely change the way you behave and also the way your life’s direction.
