But still you will love this Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander desktop version.

Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander

According to Canonical this Ubuntu 13.10 will support only 9 months. As they previously launched their long term support Ubuntu version Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Ubuntu, the most famous distro of Linux has lots of new improvements , updated application and new feature. Also improved it’s Unity desktop shell including search feature.

So Whats new in Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander ? Here I am going to give you brief review on Ubuntu 13.10 and going to tell whats are the new feature that added in this version. So lets check the new changes in Ubuntu 13.10.

Smart Scopes
The main attraction of Unity Desktop shell is Dash. Dash is one kind of panel where users can browse and search anything like file, application etc. And Smart scopes also allow you search on web from Dash. Smart Scopes shows results from many variety of website like Wikipedia, eBay, Reddit etc. Another feature that’s makes smart scopes great is it learns from your click and shows your relevant results when you search next time. Is it not cool!

Still Unity 7
If you examine Ubuntu 13.10 then you will find some minor changes in this version. We are expecting that Unity 8 will be available on this version where Ubuntu 13.10 is based on Unity 7. Unity 8 is under process of development though you can see it in touch platform. If you want have a look on QML based touch Unity 8 then you can install it on your Ubuntu 13.10 Environment. All you have to do is run “unity8” command on command line.

Now we can say that if you want Unity 8 then you have to wait for Ubuntu 14.04 or 14.10. I am quite disappointed with this version as its still use Unity 7 and Xorg where Xmir is missing. But its open some corner about big changes in next version of Ubuntu. Still you can give a try by downloading Ubuntu 13.10 from bellow link.
